The 2011 Santa Fe Renaissance Fair needs you!

Last year, our attendance increased to over 5,600 people, and we're anticipating even more this year! Funds raised during this event support the programs of El Rancho de las Golondrinas and Open Hands. El Rancho de las Golondrinas, an idyllic spot for a Renaissance Fair, is a Spanish colonial outdoor living history museum and educational destination with 200 acres of historical recreations, including working gristmills, a blacksmith shop, a schoolhouse and much more. Open Hands is a Santa Fe based charity, helping elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged New Mexicans to live with dignity since 1977.
Volunteers are what make this Fair happen!
We hope you will consider being an integral part of making the Santa Fe Renaissance Fair come alive. We will have more games this year than last (click here for descriptions of each), and each one needs a solid team of volunteers to run it.
Besides games there are many other jobs for teams and individual volunteers. These include merchandise sales (e.g. T-shirts, mugs, etc.), game ticket sales, prize redemption and wandering characters. We would also like to assemble a physically fit volunteer team to help disabled patrons navigate their wheelchairs around Las Golondrinas.
In the months prior to the big weekend we will be promoting the fair at various events and there may be work parties for construction, painting or crafting. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with any of those.
